For different levels of students (as well as students in different geographical regions), the given information may vary. This is purely a hypothetical example to get students thinking about advantages and disadvantages. I’m all for editing this to make it more authentic.
Receive a lifetime discount of 45% off of all final purchase prices OR receive a “buy one, get one free” discount for every lifetime purchase made?
If you choose the 45%, this applies to ALL purchases.
If you choose the BOGO, this applies to ALL purchases and the “free” item may not be returned to the seller.
Have 1 of 8 slices from a 10″ pizza OR 1 of 10 slices from a 14″ pizza?
Whichever option you choose, justify your reasoning with mathematics.
