Would You Rather...

Receive a lifetime discount of 45% off of all final purchase prices OR receive a “buy one, get one free” discount for every lifetime purchase made?

If you choose the 45%, this applies to ALL purchases.

If you choose the BOGO, this applies to ALL purchases and the “free” item may not be returned to the seller.

  1. This is a clear choice for me. 45% off all the way. While it’s less “savings” than BOGO’s 50%, there are lots of purchases (from large scale, like a house, to small things like a shirt) where owning 2 of the items would be redundant & majorly annoyning.

  3. My 9th grade stats class had a really good discussion on this one today. Before giving them the prompt, I had them pick their favorite store and then I gave them the 45%/BOGO option based on items in that store. 9th graders think of some off the wall, outrageous things when not given parameters.
Anyway, we had a good discussion about how sometimes having two of something at a store (like golf clubs or snow mobiles) would not be advantageous or worthwhile. Another student brought up the fact that BOGO’s usually entitle you to the cheaper item free. If one were buying a pair of jeans and a shirt, the savings would be less than the 45% off, considering the jeans are much more expensive.
We enjoyed this one. Thanks for posting.
